Lucy Tierk Shoham Memorial Scholarships
The awards are merit-based scholarships for higher education students demonstrating high academic performance related to the goals of the International Organization for Health, Sports, and Kinesiology (IOHSK). They are intended for students from low- to middle-income countries. The names of recipients will be announced during the 7th International Conference on July 15-19, 2024, at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines.
The award honors the memory of Lucy Shoham who passed away in 2022 at age 100. She was the mother of Randi (Shoham) McKenzie and mother-in-law of Thomas L. McKenzie (Honorary Lifetime IOHSK President).

Requirements:
1. 2024 IOHSK membership. [Link].
2. Lucy Tierk Shoham Memorial Scholarship Application [Link].
3. One letter of recommendation from a Faculty Member
[Submit it in pdf format with application]
4. A maximum of 2 pages resume in pdf, including the followings:
a. Academic background
b. Proof of academic performance (i.e., GPA, Dean's List, Academic Awards)
c. Evidence of community services (i.e., Volunteering and Leadership)
5. An essay of 200-250 words in pdf format on "What does your mother mean to you?"

Note: Applications will be reviewed and evaluated on June 1 - June 21, 2024. Recipients will be notified by email on June 31, 2024 and will be required to register the international conference either in-person or virtual/online registration. All recipients are welcome to attend the conference; however, it is optional due to travel cost and Visa related issues.
